K.I.T.T.

It's been a while since I have updated the site and there are a few things that are pretty cool I have done. K.I.T.T. was one of them. My reference material was images found by an image search and I noticed, there were many different versions/models of K.I.T.T.. It was hard to find any actual references of the car used in the shows so I combined images and I think its pretty close.
I did however find an image of the actual light kit used for the scanner. Turned out it was basically trailer lights with a switch to dial the speed it went back and forth. This will probably be the only project I include some of my reference images.
Over-all I think its a bit rough and could do with some refining or restrategizing. But I decided to go with what I have because of the materials. Rendering a black car paint takes a bit of calculating. You need lots of reflections to see any detail, but too much will kill it. You also need lots of black, but not just black, almost black sort black and finally, black. Oh, and also, you need a bit of color to pull off the over-all effect. So I decided to go with a scene that had a few distractions, variations and in the case of the floor adding some subtle lines helped a ton.
It's taking quite a while to render, about 45min a frame. I could probably lean it down, but here is 1/2 of it and eventually I will finish rendering it.
